Ballet

Friday, Grace had a demonstration class during Ballet.  It wasn't really a recital.... this is the initial offering of ballet at her school, so I think the teacher wanted show what they could do, and there wasn't enough time to prepare for the recital they had in March since they only started in January.

This is a pre-primary class, so there isn't a huge focus on positions and pirouettes.  It's more about developing movements, posture, grace, etc.  This class is currently all elementary girls at Grace's school interested in ballet.  Next year they are going to break it into more targeted age groups.

Here is an album of all of the pictures from the demonstration:  Ballet

I was impressed with how well Grace followed directions.  And she really enjoyed the class.  We'll be signing up again in the fall.

Playing in the house

A few things to note, other then the lovely house in these pics....

Audrey is wearing shorts....  first time this year, if not EVER.  It was 86 today!

Beautiful, new blue jelly shoes that she may never take off her feet again!

I think that after a few days in the sun, this little girl is going to be really blonde.  Her hair seems to be getting lighter and lighter the more we're outside!

Blog Update

I updated the blog with quite a few posts today.....  I tried to date them correctly, so they are mixed in with some other posts.

For easy access, here's a list:

The House that Daddy Built!
Little Gym Performance
Videos from Flanders Field
Grace's Music Class

Audrey and Ella

This is what these two do while they wait for their big sisters during Ballet.....sit around and snack, snack, snack!  Ella is Zoe's little sister.  She's about 3 months older then Audrey.

The House that Daddy built!

We decided to get the girls a house to play with in the back yard.  We originally wanted a swing set, but haven't had much luck finding what we want for a reasonable price, plus....  they aren't at the age yet where it would allow them to play independently....  i.e. without the Mama, who wants to shoo them out the door in the afternoons/evenings so I can make dinner now that the weather is nice.  The house is a win-win.  They can use their little imaginations and play all kinds of things with the house.  It's already been a school, doctor's office, store and neighbor's house.

We got the house from Carrefour Planet, which is like a Super Target.  It was completely disassembled.... and when we laid all the pieces out to match up with the instructions, we determined, based on the instructions that we were missing 5 pieces, and had 2 extras.  So I went up to the store and was able to to come home with the "missing" pieces.  Turns out, after assembly, some of the missing pieces weren't really  missing.... the instructions were wrong.  But oh well!

It ended up being fairly easy to assemble.  But we're pretty sure the wood is not treated....  so we decided to paint.  We have a few more things to touch up, and I want to look around Hobby Lobby this summer to find some decorations...... but other then that....Voila!

The girls love it!

Blue

I love it when these girls wear blue....

I just wish getting them to act naturally in front of the camera was easy.
