Grace's 4 year Stats

Weight:  18.900 kg, roughly 42lbs. - 75th Percentile
Height: 110 cm, 43.3 inches - 75th - 90th percentile

These measurements are now done using the World Health Organization charts, so the percentiles are different then when she was measured using the CDC charts.  

She's mostly wearing size 5 clothes now.  She definitely needs size 5 pants for the length, but they have a hard time staying up on her waist properly.  Even with the cinched in waistbands.  I wish I could find a workable solution to keeping her pants up.  The only ones that work are elastic waistbands, like leggings.  But anything with buttons or snaps are droopy drawers.  Size 4 shirts fit in the neck and chest, but they are not long enough in the torso and sleeves.  So because of all that, we see a lot of belly hanging out! 

Audrey's Hair

Audrey has more hair then we know what to do with!  And it always seems like it is in her eyes.  So today I attempted a side pony.....

.... and attempting a picture while she's eating a tangerine is challenging.

 

Snow....

It snowed quite a bit on Tuesday, and then a tiny bit throughout the week......  It hasn't been above freezing, so the snow is not going anywhere.  And guess what!  It is snowing very hard today, too.

I'm over it!

Snow Boots!

Here's something we would have never owned in Georgia!  I need to get a picture of Audrey in hers..... someone was nice enough to give us a hand-me down pair for her, too.

Rapunzel Party!

Grace wanted a Rapunzel party!  No if's, and's or but's about it.

So last summer when we were in the States, I bought the Princess Barbie cake pan to attempt a Rapunzel cake.  Well.....  she doesn't really look like Rapunzel....  and I wasn't able to get any darker purple fondant, so I just threw in the towel and went with a plain old Princess, instead.

I think I like her hair do the best.  I didn't enjoy working with fondant.  It may have been the brand, but it seemed to dry out really quickly.  It was cracking everywhere. 

I hung purple bunting with suns everywhere.  Handmade.  No purple bunting to be found anywhere in Belgium!  I was soooooo thankful to find the sun paper punch, though!

 

 Pascal party blowers.   So cute.  But I wish they had been SILENT. :)

Rapunzel braids for each little princess.  We attached them to crowns that each little girl decorated.

Singing happy birthday....and a shot of the jello treats.  It was supposed to be blue jello to look like water, and an orange slice to look like a boat, to replicate when Flynn took Rapunzel on the boat to look at the lanterns.  Jello is not readily available in Belgium.  I had a friend look for me at the commissary at the military base, but they didn't have any blue.  So I tried to turn green jello blue.....not very successful.

 

All the pretty princesses.  We invited the girls from Grace's class, plus a few non-school friends.  

They all wore their princess best!

 

Grace had a really wonderful time.  Mommy needs a nap!  :)

Grace's 4th Birthday!

The day finally arrived.  Grace has been counting down to turning 4 since the day after she turned 3.  And it was going to be a Princess extravaganza!  She is obsessed with Rapunzel and Tangled.

 

 

It was a very snowy day, too.  School was almost called off.....which would have been a big disappointment for Grace.  (This picture was taken in the evening, after the driveway and sidewalks were shoveled twice by Matt, and once by me.)

She really wanted to celebrate with her friends and teachers at school.  She is the 4th oldest in her class - oldest girl!  The teacher makes a special crown for them to wear, and they get to have a really special day.

I sent cupcakes in for a treat; and we enjoyed cupcakes after dinner, too.

Two girls, two sets of pony's!  I think Grace was at least two before she had the hair for pony's!
