Over Achiever

Miss Grace weighed 8lbs 6oz today at her doctor's appointment. She gained 14 ounces in 10 days. The doctor was really impressed, and Mommy & Daddy were amazed and relieved.

So we've got the green light to let her sleep as long as she likes at night. Interestingly, last night she was waking herself up every 3 hours, so she may have other plans about sleeping...

Week Two

I am 2 weeks old today! Time is flying by.

This week, my Alley grandparents from Florida were visiting. We had a lot of fun, but my favorite thing was tummy time with Grandpa.

Much different kind of tummy time then the torture my parents inflict on me.

Miss Lori came over on Saturday for my first official professional photo shoot. Here's a link to the sneak peek: Sneak Peek Can't wait to see the final set of pictures. Lori is so talented and the pictures made my Mommy cry, but we had so much fun... I didn't want to sleep and miss any of the action. Thank you so much, Lori!

Tomorrow I go for my 2 week check-up. Mommy is praying I'm back at my birth weight so the doctor will let me sleep longer at night. Granny says she can tell I've gained weight, so hopefully I have.

Happy 1st Week Grace

My first week of life was full of many first and amazing things.

My birthday - January 15th, 2009 - this was obviously a BIG accomplishment. Just ask my parents.

My first car ride - Daddy did a great job bringing me home from the hospital. It was so cold, but I was snug in my Bundle Me and some nice warm blankets. Mommy sat in the back with me just to make sure I was secure.

My first appointment with the pediatrician - I have regained 50% of the weight I lost while I was in the hospital....in two days. We go back on the 30th, and the doctor hopes I'll be back at my birth weight. At this rate, it's looking good.

The Big Reveal

Miss Grace Marie Caspermeyer was born on 1/15/09, weighing 7lb 12 oz. and 20.5 inches long. She has all 10 fingers and toes, and is perfect in almost every way. But of course, we are biased!

We're still at the hospital, and will be until tomorrow early afternoon, but wanted to update the blog with Miss Grace's first glamor shot. Once we get settled, I'm sure we'll be taking tons of pictures and video and will be posting often. Stay tuned....

Due Date

The due date has officially come and gone..... and baby C is still nice and cozy inside my belly. We've tried a few tricks to coax the baby out, but to no avail so far....

We had spicy Thai on Friday night. Nothing. Just some heartburn for Mama.

There was a full moon on Saturday night. Nothing. But maybe because it was so obstructed by the clouds?!

We went to Scalini's last night for the Eggplant. So far nothing.... they say give it 48 hours to do its trick. (For those who don't know about Scalini's, here's an article: Eggplant Babies)

If the baby doesn't come on its own before tomorrow, we are going to go in to be induced tomorrow night. Keep us in your prayers and thoughts and we'll be sending an email from the hospital when the baby arrives - they have wireless!
