Laughter and Imagination

When I found out it was Baby Elephant's birthday, we just HAD to walk down to the bakery!  :)

This video also contains rare footage of the house the night before the curtains and pictures were hung.  Stay tuned for a virtual tour once that is complete!

Progress: Grace's Room

Before:
And now:

Sunshine light, and curtains that still need to be hemmed.

A wardrobe!!

Again, lots of things left to hang on the wall, but huge progress!

Progress: TV Room

Just wanted to share an update on the progress made now that our stuff has arrived.

As a reminder, here is the TV Room BEFORE:

And now:

New bookshelf - man, do we miss the built-in's!

Obviously, we still have a lot to do....like hang things on the wall! But it's starting to come together.

Our Humble Abode

So I've had a few requests for pictures of the house. I have been hesitant to post any because it is so scarcely furnished, and kind of messy since we don't have any where to put anything! Our air shipment is suppose to arrive in country TODAY. But who knows how long to clear customs. And although I really want our stuff, until our sea shipment arrives, this place will really be a mess with even more stuff with no more to put it - most of what you see now, came on the plane with us, the rest is either rented, or we've bought.....sigh....

So pardon our mess, as I give you a partial tour.

The Kitchen

View from room with the table/desk.

That amazing stove/oven!

Our quite large refrigerator by European standards. It isn't a problem for us so far. But food over here doesn't have preservatives in it, so we have to go to the store more often anyway.

TV Room
2 couches, an end table, TV, TV stand, and coffee table. Where we spend most of our time.

Living Room/Dining Room/Office

Kitchen/Dining Table, also serves as a desk, and a catchall for things that have no home at the moment. High chair.....hopefully we won't have temporary furniture as long as it will take to need this!

Fireplace mantle is storage for things that need to be out of reach for little hands.

Grace's closet and dresser

And the best part......Ghetto Curtains (duvet covers)!

Audrey's Bedroom

Crib, Ghetto curtains (blanket), and uncomfortable chair provided for late night feedings.

Closet

Changing table

Master Bedroom

Our room really is a mess, so I'll spare you. But we have one dresser to share, so 2 drawers each, and 2 racks for clothes. Also 2 nightstands. And our low to the ground bed - comes up to our shins. And is NOT comfortable, whatsoever.

The end!

Playing!

So thankful to finally have a backyard!

And so thankful we brought the bouncy seat (and that Audrey finally likes it)!

We Have a House!!!!

Technically, we have two now. But this is the new one in Brussels. It's in an area of town called Audergehm. The landlord is in the midst of renovations. The oven can fit TWO American turkey's!!!

Nostalgic

So the sign in the front yard has me taking a trip down memory lane and looking back through all my pictures of the renovations we've done to this house over the last 5 years.

We've come a long way. Amazing to me how we could see through all that wallpaper and find the good bones of this house.

Tons of renovation pictures, so unless you're bored...... or skip down to the Virtual Tour.

Big Girl Room Details

We put a few more finishing touches on Grace's big girl room over the weekend. I think this is the end state before we pack up and move. I have some butterfly decals I want to put on the wall, but will be saving those for the next big girl room we decorate....

G Bow hanger Natalie and her Mommy made Grace, including bows.

Name letters, the new version (the original version all of the Grandparents helped paint brown and string from ribbon to hang in the nursery)
