School Pictures

The Goddard School's photographer tried to pull a fast one on me today.... they sent home a whole packet of Grace's pictures. 8x10s, 5x7s, wallets.... the whole nine yards! To which, I was like....Saaaaaaweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! I was like, wow...we won't order, we'll just keep what they sent home as "samples".

Here's the catch. They're not samples. If you don't return them, you pay. Big time. So I showed them. And took pictures of the pictures!! Take that tricky school photographer!

But shhhhhhh, don't report me for copyright infringement!!

And as you can see, Grace is the baldest of the bunch.... or at least she was. We have a new friend in our class named Molly who has a shiny head, too.

Melissa, Can you guess which one is Natalie's clone?

15 month stats!

Weight: 24.6 lbs 50-75th percentile
Height: 32 inches 90th percentile
Head: GINORMOUS 48 1/8 cm 95th percentile

Shots: 2; MMR and last HIB. AGONY. But quickly pacified with a graham cracker.

The doctor was very pleased with all of our mobility progress since January. But Grace didn't show any tricks for the doctor. She played her shy card.

We're walking!

In true last minute fashion, the night before her 15 month well baby visit, Grace pulled out the big guns and FINALLY took more then 1-2 steps on her own, hands free.

I think we owe it all to Natalie! They shared quite a few secrets, so you never know!!

Revenge

Oh, the smell of sweet revenge!

Remember this incident?

Yes, that's sweet Natalie Hall chomping on innocent Miss Grace's hand.

Natalie and her Mommy spent the night last night, and we had to take pictures of the girls in front of the azaleas this morning.

Look how big they've gotten!!!

"Girls, can you hug?"

"Uh Oh!"

The twist in the story.... sometimes it's better to forgive and forget. Grace ended up losing her balance and doing a face plant, and there was no more photo shoot in front of the azaleas!

Azalea's 2010

We have never had such beautiful azalea's! Neighbors have told us they never bloomed before we moved in, and the last few years we have always had a hard freeze just as the buds are about to pop. But this year, finally....perfect, beautiful azaleas!!

Just for fun, here's some flashback pictures from when we bought the house in 2006. What a difference 4 years makes!

What a jungle!

15 Months

[Can you sense her disdain?]
Hard to believe it has been 15 months....
Here are a few things about Grace this month:
Walking. Grace is soooooo close. She cruises along on everything and walks holding onto just one finger on one of our hands.
Loves dogs! Loves them. As a special treat last weekend, we picked a park with a playground that also had a dog park, so Grace could go and see all the doggies. Turns out there were no swings, so we mostly watched the dogs. She gets so excited when she sees dogs. They might be something worth walking for! Twice a few weeks ago, we were outside after dinner, and I took her over to see some dogs that were out for a walk. I was crouched down behind her and she was standing between my legs… and she literally lurched forward to get to the dogs. No fear! But we’re very careful to make sure the owners say it’s ok. We met one doggie who doesn’t like babies, so we just watched from afar.
Words. I was just reading through the word list from last month trying to see if we have any more additions. Owl, flower, row, NO, Anna (one of her teachers), egg, door. We think we heard her saying 'hot' tonight while we were eating dinner. We’ve been working on animal sounds. The bee goes “buzz”. The owl says “hoo”. The cow says “moo”. The lion goes “roar”. The monkey not only goes “oh oh oh”, but there are hand gestures, too - there was a lot of this at the Gorilla Easter Egg Hunt at the zoo. And a sentence…..Easter dinner, we ate outside and Grace said “Hi Bumble” waving to the bee that was circling over us. That counts as a sentence, right?
Shakes her head yes and no, but not sure if/when she’s doing it she’s really meaning yes or no.
Still only 8 teeth, but some very swollen gums. So maybe we'll be seeing those pesky molars soon.
Points to her eyes, ears, head, nose, belly, and belly button. Also, ours and anyone else who will let her. Some confusion between toes and nose.
Has developed quite an attachment to Mama. This is very new this month, ever since she was home sick for a few days. It was getting very hard to leave her at school every day, but this week we haven’t had any incidents (knock on wood), and lots of blowing of kisses when I leave. YAY. Pick up time in the evening has become a different experience as well. She used to stop what she was doing and almost whine until we picked her up. Now she is almost too busy to be bothered with us and barely pays any attention to us as we gather her things.
Will not look at the camera! I hope the pro can get her to! We've been going for walks or spending time outside after dinner now, since daylight savings time....so lots of outdoor and/or azalea shots! And more to come...we're about to have the best bloom on our azalea's since we moved in.

Azalea Photo Shoot

I tried to get some pictures of Grace in her special Master's Day outfit in front of the azalea's this morning. They were still in the shadow of the house - maybe after nap we'll try again with full sun. But here are a few shots....

Spoon Practice

It has been HOT here, and they've been playing outside a LOT at school, and rubbing Grace's head down with sunscreen when going outside to keep the little baldy from burning....hence the Mohawk!

But we're starting to practice more and more with our spoon. And so far, hands work better!

Day at the Masters!

This post is especially for Grandpa Caspermeyer!

Last night, around 9:30pm, Matt got a call from his friend Bob wanting to know if he wanted to go to today's practice round in Augusta. Uh, yeah. Dumb question!

So with a quick camera lesson and hunt for sunscreen, he was off at 5am for a day in Augusta!

Here are some shots from Matt's fun today:

Happy Easter!

Grace's Florida Grandparents were here to celebrate Easter this year. We went to the zoo on Saturday for the Annual Gorilla Easter Egg hunt. Grace had the best seat in the house on Grandpa's shoulders and enjoyed watching the gorilla's search for eggs, making monkey noises and gestures to cheer them on.

And now the main event.....

Finding her Easter basket (in her Christmas jammies)!

Posing in her Easter dress and bunny ears!

Check out those shoes!

And a close up of those beautiful baby blues and CURLS!
