Happy Halloween!
Since we were in Greece for Halloween, I didn't pack costumes....but found these shirts and brought the masks I made with Grace's class during her Halloween party at school. Halloween isn't really celebrated in Europe (except maybe in England) like it is in the US. The girls will be in for a huge surprise when they get to do a real trick-or-treat in the US!

AWCB Trunk or Treat 2014
We still try to expose the girls to American traditions while living in Belgium....Halloween isn't really celebrated here. The longer we live here, the more we see, but there is no door to door trick or treating or big celebrations at school. Thankfully, the American Women's Club does a good job at hosting a Trunk or Treat. You gather in the parking lot, decorate your trunk, and the kids go from car to car trick or treating. Then we all do a potluck dinner....and voila! You've celebrated Halloween. Although this year, it was about two weeks early because of the timing of fall break.

Pumpkin Carving
This is the first time we've been home for Halloween in Belgium.... I tried to organize a few houses in the neighborhood for some trick or treating, but I only got a few takers. It ended up being ok, because Audrey wasn't feeling very well, so we had a low key day and saved pumpkin carving for that evening after dinner.
Getting started....
Digging out the guts...
Audrey would NOT touch the guts!!
Plotting out design
Having fun!
The finished product....
Out on the balcony... and what do you know, when I went to put it out there, there were two girls in costume looking like they were trick or treating, so we invited them over so we could hand out some treats. It was the first and last trick or treaters of the night. But at least we got some!

A late Halloween Picture

I just saw this picture on my neighbor's facebook page..... look at that little puppy standing with all the big kids waiting for the Westchester Halloween parade to start. She's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over on the left. She got lost in the crowd for a minute, but fought her way to the front where she belongs. :)

More Bee pics
My computer blew up Saturday night... but technology is amazing and I was back up and running first thing yesterday.
Anyway, I didn't get to post these cute pics of Grace. We sat on the stairs as we waited for all the kids to come by. Grace LOVED all the kids. She got so excited every time a new group came to the door. She wasn't scared or shy at all.

Bee version 2.0
Happy Halloween!
I've been trying to get a good picture of her all week. This will have to do. She didn't really like having her antennae on her head.

The wings started out as orange. I've been spraying painiting them with floral paint all week to try and turn them yellow. Nylon doesn't take spray paint too well.

The tutu was easy to make. I see many tutu's in our future! And anyone else that wants one.

Happy Eve of Halloween Eve

Grace wore her "happy halloween" outfit to school today because she is wearing her top secret costume to school tomorrow. At least part of it. Stay tuned for the big reveal....
And she looked so darn cute, particularly her candy corn socks, we had to do a photo shoot on the front step this evening. Here are a bunch of shots....I had a hard time narrowing them down, and believe me, this is a narrow downed set: Fall 2009
